Saint Emilion represents the unique characteristics of a region’s land affecting its produce. It comprises three elements: soil, grape variety, and human cultivation. The Grand Saint-Émilionnais terroir, known for its geological variety, tempered continental micro-climate, and gently sloped terrain, enhances vine exposure to sunlight. Primarily using Merlot, blended with Cabernet Franc or Sauvignon and Malbec, it produces nuanced wines. Merlot adds roundness and berry flavors, Cabernet Franc brings finesse, and Cabernet Sauvignon adds spicy notes and longevity. Wine aging in barrels and bottles further develops its aromatic complexity, evolving into a tawny color with a complex palate. Harvest season, from mid-September to late October, is spectacular in this region.
