In 1995, X-Men, part of the Timebomb collective, revolutionized French rap. Formed by Cassidy and Ill, they brought hardcore, technically rich styles to the forefront. Timebomb, initiated by DJ Sek, DJ Mars, and Ricky le Boss, launched influential artists like Booba, Ali, and Oxmo Puccino with their ’Time Bomb vol. 1’ compilation. Their bilingual background infused their music, breaking traditional linguistic norms. Despite disbanding in 1999, their legacy endured, notably through the 2009 compilation ’Terre promise des MC’s’.
