They are known for their heavy, atmospheric sound, consisting of slowly evolving drones, themes of doom, endless distortion and heavily-layered feedback. Sunn O)))’s sound is often described as a mix of fuzz, doom and black metal, but it has also been described as ambient, avant-garde, drone metal, and experimental.
