Sunstare is a metal band formed in the summer of 2013 in the Lille region of France. The quartet, comprising Tom on bass, Antoine on drums, Vince on guitar, and Peb on vocals and lyrics, quickly established itself on the underground scene through its intense live performances.

Their musical style is characterized by a heavy and atmospheric blend of doom metal, sludge, and hardcore influences. The band is known for its slow tempos, massive riffs, powerful drumming, as well as deep growls and expressive screams, creating a dense and immersive soundscape. The name "SunStare" is derived from the lyrics of "The Tide," a song by the band Neurosis, highlighting their roots in post-metal and sludge.

After forging its identity on stage, Sunstare released their debut album, Under The Eye of Utu, in 2015, which was praised for its subtle blend of the musicians' diverse influences. The band continued to evolve, releasing Ziusudra in 2022, and also appeared on the compilation French Metal : L'Anthologie Du Chaos.
