Sloy, a French rock band (1992-2001), featured Armand Gonzalez, Cyril Bilbeaud, Virginie Peitavi. Known for its unique sound: melodic bass, sharp drums, distorted guitar, intense vocals. Broke through with “Fuse” in ’94, followed by “Plug” produced by Steve Albini in ’95, “Planet of Tubes” in ’96, “Electrelite” in ’98. Over 300 concerts, toured with Shellac, P.J. Harvey. Disbanded in 2001 after 3 albums, citing the need for evolution. Influences include Joy Division, Pixies, The Cure.
